BOSTON CANNONS GAME-DAY VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

GAME DAY OPERATIONS

If you are interested in adding event experience to your resume and have limited availability this summer, consider being a Cannons game day volunteer. We have seven home games this season, all of which are played at Gillette Stadium. Preference will be given to candidates that can attend 5+ home games during the season. Game day volunteers can receive college course credit if applicable. 

Guest Relations Representative (4 positions available)

  • Responsible for providing an exceptional experience to every guest that visits the stadium through various contact points
  • Welcoming fans at our gates, ability to answer a variety of stadium/in-game questions
  • Must be attentive to all guests needs
  • Have full knowledge of stadium policies, services, and facility locations
  • Guest Relations Representative must be able to arrive 3 hours prior to game, and stay the duration of the game

         Other opportunites include:

  • Assist in fan zone
  • Liaison for youth games
  • Oversee player "Meet & Greets" and "Rally tunnel"
  • Act as point of contact for fans at the fan services tent
  • Act as the host for all guests during their visit to Gillette Stadium
  • It is important that each representative can anticapate guests' problems and never ignore them
  • Representatives must be able to arrive 1 hour prior to the game, and stay 30 minutes after

Boston Cannons Summer Internships (Apr 6th- Aug 7th)

Corporate Partnerships (2-3 positions available)        

This position will require interns to work 1-3 days in the Cannons front office plus ALL home games, and occasional events around the Boston area. The intern will learn about one of the vital aspects of professional sports: developing and maintaining healthy relationships with corporate sponsors. In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, all interns may assist in general marketing activities, and office operations.

Responsibilities:

  • The Corporate Partnerships Intern will work with the Director, and Coordinator 

  • Assist in the support, promotion, and activation of all sponsorship deals

  • Assist in creating presentations to bring to potential sponsors

  • Create data driven excel spreadsheets to help target potential sponsors, on site activation, sponsorship fulfillment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing a College/University degree in the field of Business or Management

  • Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • The interns weekly office schedule will vary based on community events and the students academic curriculum.

  • MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL HOME GAMES AT GILLETTE STADIUM

  • The Cannons office is not directly accessible by public transportation (within 1 mile), so applicants should have their own means of transportation.

  • Internships are unpaid, but student can receive course credit

Merchandise Operations (1-2 positions available)        

This position will require interns to work 1-3 days in the Cannons front office plus ALL home games, and occasional events around the Boston area. In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, all interns may assist in general marketing activities, and office operations.

Responsibilities:

  • This position will work directly with the event manager to efficiently manage the supply chain

  • Maintain supplies by checking stock to determine inventory levels

  • Manage all aspects of game day merchandise sales

  • Create game day sales reports to send to accountant

  • Create marketing ideas to promote game sales

  • Work with creative marketing intern to create material to promote sales

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing a College/University degree in the field of fashion merchandising is preferred 

  • Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Excel, social media channels

  •  Adobe Photoshop or graphic design experience preferred

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

Marketing & Communications (3-4 positions available) 

This position will require interns to work 1-3 days in the Cannons front office plus ALL home games, and occasional events around the Boston area. In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, all interns will assist in general marketing activities, and office operations. They will have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of running a professional sports team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Update and maintain the Boston Cannons social media content pages

  • Create press releases for local media outlets

  • Develop buzz around the team using strategic media channels

  • Research local sporting and community events around the Boston area

  • Serve inbound customers; answering phones, forwarding messages, confirming customer orders

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing a College/University degree in the field of business or communications

  • Excellent computer skills; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SEO, social media channels

  •  Adobe Photoshop or graphic design experience preferred

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Ticket Sales Internship (3-4 positions available) 

The ticket sales Intern will work with the Director of Ticket Sales to assist in all aspects of ticket sales for the Boston Cannons. This position will require interns to work 2-4 days in the Cannons front office plus ALL home games, and occasional events around the Boston area. The intern will learn about one of the most important aspects of professional sports: filling the stadium with fans. The ticket sales intern will assist with community marketing efforts, season ticket promotions, database management, group sales initiatives, and courtesy follow-up calls to past customers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Director of Ticket Sales in all aspects of ticket sales for the Cannons, the most important aspect of professional sports

  • Assist with group sales initiatives, database management, season ticket promotions and more

  • Make sales calls to current and past ticket buyers – must be comfortable on the phone

  • Serve inbound customers; answering phones, forwarding messages, confirming customer orders

  • Maintain supplies by checking stock to determine inventory levels

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing a College/University degree in the field of business or communications

  • Exhibit exceptional work ethic, desire to succeed and passion for a meaningful career in the sports industry

  • Excellent computer skills; Excel, Word, Salesforce CRM, Photoshop

  • Strong organizational, and communication skills
