Last week, Boston Cannons rookie midfielder Cam Flint agreed to a deal with Warrior Sports. The University of Denver alum has recorded 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in six games for the Cannons. His composed style of play reflects that of a veteran player rather than a player just six games into his MLL career.
Flint is special because he impacts all areas of the field. He is a speedster in transition whose quickness in the offensive end creates a matchup nightmare. His solid ground ball game combined with his toughness on the defensive end makes him an extremely versatile player, a rare, but welcome commodity in the MLL.
“Cam Flint is very versatile and is an old-school, throw-back middie who you can plug in anywhere and feel comfortable," praised head coach John Tucker.
The Cannons' 6th overall draft pick won the Cascade Rookie of the Week during week nine against the Ohio Machine for his five-point (four goal, one assist) performance. The recognition is the 2013 graduate's first in an MLL uniform, but his senior spring was full of collegiate accolades--he was honored as a USILA First-Team All-American and was named to the All-EAC First Team.
“Flint does just a little bit of everything well—he gets the ball off the ground, defends, scores, obviously. He is not only extremely gifted and talented but he’s also a phenomenal young guy," Tucker added.
